This one-day workshop will introduce you to simple printing and stitching techniques to create your own unique hand stitched landscape in the creative setting of the Wink at No 14.
Using a variation of different fabric backgrounds and simple heat printing techniques using an iron, you will build up layers of materials combined with different embroidery stitches and applique to create your own unique stitched landscape.
All abilities of hand stitchers are welcome. The workshop will cover stitches such as French knots, feather and seeding stitching along with creative straight stitching and applique of materials to finish your textile landscape.
All materials will be provided, and you will have a selection of materials to create your textile background. You can create one larger piece or a triptych of small samples to create your final piece, which will be bound and mounted ready for you to frame.
If you have a photograph of your favorite landscape, please do bring it along as inspiration.
